Dialing Outside the Building
In accordance with Kari's Law and Ray Baum's Act all phones in the building are able to dial 911 without needing to dial anything beforehand.
To dial outside of the building simply dial an 8 followed by the number you wish to reach. For example, to reach the school you would dial 8 1 8605642728 from the telephone. Connecticut requires that you use ten digit dialing, meaning you will have to use the area code when calling anybody outside of the building. When reaching 800 numbers you may be required to dial 8 1 followed by the number. In the event of an emergency, you CAN dial 911 without needing to dial an 8 first. If you accidentally dial an 8 first, you will still be connected with 911.
